
To create an e-commerce website for Rhopoint Components with the design to be focussed on the customer experience. By making a journey easy for a customer and providing helpful information at the right time means they’ll stay on the website for longer, build a connection and feel comfortable to make a purchase.
Rhopoint also asked us to provide opportunities to promote their extra services such as customised parts and special offers.
First impressions count
To keep the branding consistent we used their signature turquoise along with black and grey as secondary, complimentary colours.
We used a striking duotone image of components as Rhopoints main image. Used along with an explanatory strapline instantly tells a reader what the website is offering.
There are multiple ways for a customer to search for products;
- Using the top navigation
- Search bar
- By category
- By manufacturer
- By approval
- By industry
Giving these options means that finding a product is a streamlined process with minimal frustration.
Easy navigation
We implemented a mega menu for the products. This instantly shows the relationship between the products and their categories, making it easier for a customer to find what they are looking for.

Intuitive product listing
Showing key information of each product means the reader doesn’t have to take the time to make an extra step by clicking in and out of each product individually. This makes the experience easier for a customer to skim over the results and decide which products to open up and find out further information.
A detailed filter to the left helps narrow down a customers requirements even further, saving them time trawling through irrelevant and unsuitable products.


We kept all the most important information ‘above the fold’ (at the top of the page). So everything that a customer needs to know is in one place.
This includes details such as:

Any additional information is found below in a tabbed area which makes it easy to switch between different information easily.
Help builds trust
We created a help centre for customers. This is a good way to offer additional help and information someone may need before making a buying decision.
Popular subjects such as quality management, certification and compliance are available.

Behind the scenes with data
A lot of work went on behind the scenes with the data to ensure everything links up to the design. Both Rhopoint and our developer Antony were involved in making sure all the information was correct.
This involved checking any product variations were listed correctly so the dropdown menus gave the right options for the customer.
