Workshop slides that help professionals support anxious children

Transforming clinical training materials into an emotionally resonant learning experience that helps professionals truly connect with vulnerable young people.

Project overview

Ange from Elemental Health delivers workshops training teachers, social workers, and care professionals who support anxious teens. Her original slides were text-heavy and didn’t feel aligned with her brand.

When you’re teaching people how to support vulnerable children, information alone isn’t enough.

The presentation needed to create empathy and understanding, not just deliver facts.

What I created

A complete slide deck redesign that transformed clinical content into a visual learning experience.

I restructured dense psychological frameworks into scannable sections with clear visual hierarchy, selected imagery showing genuine child emotion (uncertainty, vulnerability, resilience), and created consistent layouts using Elemental Health’s soft colour palette and geometric shapes to reinforce their compassionate approach.

Strategic design approach

For emotionally charged topics like childhood anxiety, the design had to do two things at once: make complex psychological concepts accessible during live training, and keep the focus on the real children behind the theory.

I used icons and circular layouts for quick reference, broke information into digestible single-concept slides, and chose imagery that reminds professionals this isn’t abstract theory, it’s about real young people who need understanding, not judgment.

I transformed the clinical deck into a visual learning experience that puts the focus where it belongs…on the young people themselves.

Information made scannable

For topics like risk factors and anxiety responses, I used icons, circular layouts, and bullet points that professionals can quickly reference during workshops or when reflecting on what they’ve learned later.

Visual hierarchy that guides understanding

I broke down dense information into digestible sections with clear headings and white space.

Each slide presents one concept at a time, making complex psychological frameworks easier to grasp during live training sessions.

Frameworks that actually make sense

Complex psychological models don’t help anyone if people can’t grasp them quickly.

I transformed Elemental Health’s assessment framework from a text-heavy diagram into a clear visual reference using icons, colour coding, and a circular layout that shows how the four elements connect.

Workshop participants can now understand and remember the framework in seconds rather than minutes, which means they can actually apply it when they’re working with anxious young people.

Consistent branding with purpose

Elemental Health’s caring, sympathetic ethos runs through every design choice.

The soft colour palette, gentle geometric shapes, and thoughtful layout all reinforce that this isn’t just theory, it’s about real children who need real support.

Imagery that creates connection

I selected images of  children showing genuine emotion such as uncertainty, resilience, vulnerability.

These aren’t decorative. They’re there to remind professionals that behind every behaviour is a young person who needs understanding, not judgment.

The result

Workshop participants can now focus on learning and discussion rather than trying to decode crowded slides.

The presentation serves as both a training tool and a visual reminder of Elemental Health’s ethos: practical, evidence-based support delivered with compassion.

Ange can deliver with confidence, knowing the materials keep the human element front and centre throughout.
