An exciting new logo and brand creation for a new product called the Detailometer!
The Detailometer is an instrument that measures gloss. It’s an affordable and accurate gloss measurement solution for car enthusiasts and detailing professionals.
I visited the team at their office and took a detailed brief.
We discussed who the product was for and the look and vibe that my client wanted. We also took an in-depth look into the company’s mission and values which help to create a solid foundation to work from.
The logo and brand is to look sophisticated and loud whilst also being helpful and approachable, giving the right level of information to the audience.
It had to appeal mainly to people in the automotive industry so that needed to be considered in the design.
The logo design
The final logo is made up of a car to represent and connect with the automotive trade.
The ‘O’ of the Detailometer text is integrated into the design, creating a compact and eye-catching logo.
Use of diamond sparkles symbolise the gloss finish of the paint.
Logo suite
I created a suite of logos so that no matter where they are used, the brand isn’t compromised and is instantly recognisable.

Fonts and colours
I chose fonts that looked masculine, were easy to read and conveyed a sense of confidence.

The colours reflect the sophisticated vibe my client wanted, with black, white and gold being the main colours with a range of complimentary brighter colours to add small bursts of colour when needed.

Brand guidelines
Once the design was complete, I created a set of brand guidelines that can be used by my client and their team to ensure that whoever is creating content keeps the brand consistent.

This was such an honour to work on and was an exciting project to be part of!
Am looking forward to seeing more of the brand in action.
What did my client think?
